Grow PNG Successfully Hosted The Agribusiness Landowner Investor Dialogue
On July 30, 2024, Grow PNG successfully hosted the Markham Landowner Investor Dialogue at the 10 Mile National Agriculture Research Institute (NARI) Alan Quartermain Hall. This significant event followed the Markham Landowner Investor Forum held on March 4th and the Incorporated Land Group Title Handover Ceremony on June 27th, 2024.
Members from the 24 Incorporated Land Groups, agribusiness investors, Markham District Development Authority, and the Grow PNG team at the NARI Quartermain Hall following the Agribusiness Investor Pitching.
The dialogue brought together over 50 landowners from 24 Incorporated Land Groups, including five female landowners. The participation of women in this event highlighted the growing leadership and involvement of women in agriculture. More than 10 investors in various industries such as taro, corn, coffee and cocoa including financial institutions pitch their ideas, discussing investment opportunities, sharing ideas and addressing challenges directly with the landowners.
The pitch sessions resulted in a new level of awareness and clarity for the landowners on the importance of partnership investments and the requirements for a successful investment in agriculture.
Grow PNG extend its gratitude to the Markham District Development Authority for their support and all the participants, investors, and supporters who contributed to making this event a success. Special recognition goes to the Grow Asia regional team and Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) for their invaluable feedback and exceptional support throughout this journey. Grow PNG remains committed to exploring potential investment opportunities and fostering partnerships that will drive sustainable development in the Markham Valley.
